Over 150 years ago, the founders of the Cape Cod
Association felt a need to increase the scope of knowledge and sophistication
of the future Cape Cod generations. To accomplish this goal they envisioned
assisting Cape Cod secondary school graduates to attending four-year New
England colleges in hopes that upon graduation they would return, or at least
retain their association with the Cape.
With these goals in mind, a charter was formulated which
was modified over the years to match our level of giving. The Association now
grants awards to students attending two- and four-year colleges, technical
schools, and community colleges anywhere in the United States. The
Board of Directors of the Cape Cod Association hopes that this scholarship fund
will be successful in providing a solid education for Cape Cod students who
otherwise could not afford it.

FINANCIAL NEED

important in determining eligibility for a scholarship award.
Scholarships are available all four years of undergraduate
education, but the applicant must reapply each year. The amount awarded varies
dependent on the income earned on our capital for the past year and the number
of successful applicants. Our goal is to provide $500,000 in scholarships each
year. No assumption of future amounts can be forecast.
If an award is granted, an award letter will be mailed to
the successful applicant. The award recipient will be asked to return the
signed letter with the address of the college to the Cape Cod Association. The
award check will be sent directly to the college bursar. |
